Moose Eline Carbon Fiber
Racing Pipe Guard is
one of those kind of
things that makes you say "hmmmm" when you find out that it costs more
than a hundred bucks. At least that's what I said. When we replaced the
stock header on the MoJazz
with the beautiful Pro Circuit T4 stainless header we had to bin the
stock heat shield. "How often," I thought to myself, "am I actually
going to need a heat shield?" It turns out the answer is quite often.
When thin-walled stainless tubing gets hot it's amazing how fragile it
is. When over-the-boot pants come anywhere even close to a header pipe
it's amazing how low their melting point turns out to be. Hmmmm.
After removing a half-dollar sized ding in our header and repairing the right leg of several expensive pairs of over-the-boot MX pants we saw the light and ordered up an Eline. Mitigating our painful experience with the naked header was the fact that installation was a breeze and the carbon fiber looks absolutely trick. It's also amazingly tough (more so than the header when hot). So though we are a little lighter in the wallet we don't mind. Perhaps we are simply jaded by moto-flash. Hmmmm....
